Presently
I am studying at the Washington Theological
Union seeking a Master’s of Divinity Degree
for the Priesthood. I teach Religious
Education at Our Lady of Vietnam Church in
Maryland to post-confirmation students in
the area of Church history.
I professed simple vows in 2001.
I have been with Carmelites for eight years.
Community is what initially attracted me to
the Carmelites but when I entered it was the
contemplative and prophetic spirit of the
Carmelites that made a lasting impression on
me.
My advice to those considering a vocation to
the Carmelites: “The Carmelite way is a life
of communion with God, with fellow
Carmelites, and with the people of God. Come
and discover this way of life for yourself.”
Brother Joseph Hung, O.Carm.
