My
name is Brother Christopher J. Iannizzotto,
O.Carm. Currently I am the assistant
vocation director for the Saint Elias
Province. I grew up in Saint Thomas Aquinas
Parish in Brooklyn, New York, which was
staffed by the Carmelites until 2001. I
entered the Carmelite formation program in
August of 1998 and completed my BA in
Philosophy and Religious Studies at Saint
Thomas Aquinas College in May of 2001. I
entered the Novitiate in June 2001 and
professed simple vows on June 3, 2002. I did
a two year Internship at Saint Simon Stock
Parish in the Bronx, where I taught fourth
in the Parochial school and assisted with
other duties in the Parish. I entered
Whitefriars Hall in Washington, D.C. in
August of 2004, were I am currently in my
3rd year of theological studies at the
Washington Theological Union. I professed
solemn vows on August 26, 2006, along with
seven members of the Saint Elias Province. I
hope to complete my formation and be
ordained to the priesthood in the spring of
2008.
As a member of the vocation team for the
Carmelites, it is my deepest desire to
assist any candidate who is discerning a
possible vocation to the Carmelite way of
life. I invite you to use this time of
discernment to pray and reflect on your
vocation, and I hope that as a member of the
vocation team I can assist you in your
discernment process. Please know that you
are especially remembered in our daily
intentions within our communities.
Brother
Christopher J. Iannizzotto, O.Carm.
